Unfortunately I have some sad news, I’ve been really gutted since finding out. Metal Meyhem Radio, the station I have been proud to be part of for the past 4 years is having to close on the 31st August. The Let There Be Rock Show has been aired on Metal Meyhem since June 2018, and it has been an absolute pleasure to have been part of a station whose ethics, commitment, and enthusiasm for music have matched that of my own. Everyone involved has always made me feel part of an amazing group, and via the wonders of the internet, we were able to put together some fantastic shows from across the UK and beyond.
I’d like to thank Jayde and everyone involved with Metal Meyhem for taking a chance on airing Let There Be Rock. I was asked to be part of the station during a difficult time when I almost pulled the plug on the show altogether. I honestly never imagined I’d be head-hunted to be part of something so special, and I’d like to think I’ve made some valued friends for life. The level of hard work and commitment that goes into independent radio production is incredible, a station dedicated to specialised content requires a group of committed individuals, and I am truly thankful to have been part of a DAB broadcast station in the UK, with global reach and regular listeners from around the world. Let There Be Rock has grown in popularity massively in the years since joining the station, and I am privileged to have been given the flexibility and free rein over content that I required in order to make Let There Be Rock the show I wanted it to be.
This is not the end for Let There Be Rock however, it will continue as a Mixcloud show only for the time being. I think a few weeks break will be required to put things in place in order for me to move forward with a show I feel will work.
I can only apologise to those who have contacted me recently with content for airplay, you haven’t been forgotten about, hopefully I can catch up and carry on where I left off. It’s going to be a challenge to make the next chapter in the show’s 11 and a half year history just as successful. So whether Let There Be Rock finds a new home, or I can work out something completely different, all will hopefully become clear within the coming weeks.
A big thank you to all our listeners for their support and listening ears over the duration of the show’s broadcast on Metal Meyhem Radio, I look forward to the task of taking the show to a new chapter and hope to continue to provide you with quality music along the way very soon.
